I work part time for NHRA div 1 and we have people in the tower that watch for things like that ! If we see a driver with loose belts he gets warned or excessive braking ! Some times you just cant save people from them selves !

Sounds like you are making more power with the timing change ! If you could change the rear gear to a 3.89 I think this would help ! You need wheel speed at the hit so I would say less air pressure start at about 5.5 ! Put some weight in the front like 40 lbs ! You can allways take a little out later ! If you can get the car to go from a to b you can make small changes at a time ! One last thing how is the track it self ? And do you have some one to help you back up in the groove ? A lot of people think that they have to be in there tire tracks from there burn out but is more important to be in the groove on the track ! I hope this will help you !

Throttle plates side to side adjustment is off ! One side is open more than the other !

A couple of things you should check are the roll out of your tires ! No more than half an inch ! Have you checked your wheelie bar to see if it is straight ! The car should go straight even if the front wheels are in the air !Hope this helps you !

Well I have been attempting to improve my times every time I go to the strip, my last run a 9.8 in the quarter. The fellas at the strip told me I would have to tone it down due to not having my NHRA license so attempting to get that would seem to be the next logical step. I want to do this the correct way so I got in touch with a NHRA inspector and made an appointment with him on 7/9 to have my FED inspected. Until then I figured I could work on my hole shot in the 1/8th mile, try to improve my reaction times which is really in need of improvement as well as my launch technique. Question- Could I already start on getting my moderate runs, the first 4 runs to be signed off for my license, without having the car inspected yet? I could do the cockpit orientation test and try to get a jump on things.  Any guidance on this would be appreciated. I know this is going to take time and patience but if I did a moderate run that fit the bill and could get signed off that would be great.       Is the inspector Larry Wiggins ? He will be able to walk you through everything you have to do ! Larry is one of the best out there and a great guy ! I work with him at all of the divisional races ! Tell him Bill on the hill says hello !

Speaking about cranking compression I am wondering what others have with injected nitro ? I retarded my cam and went from 225 to 190 and the next step is to tighten up on my lash but I don't know what is too high or low !
