Do you have you're rubber on a 10 or 12" rim? Im currently running a 31x 10.a mt m5 compound gotta leave line at 3500. Any higher then that it'll knock the tires off. 60' is a  1.34 at best. Im running these tires on a 10" rim.

I'm running the same Hoosier on a 10" wheel/Injected BBC, 3.89 gears and leave at 5,000. 60' is 1.19-1.2

Yes I run them tubeless and I run  a 4.56 gear . I only have 6 runs on that tire and it seem's a little different than the goodyear . The hoosier wants more air like 7lbs compared to the Goodyear 6lbs but overall I think it is a good tire .

I have tried 3 different 12" Hoosier tires with 4.30 and 4.88 gears on our FED. So far the Goodyear 2585 has proven to be the fastest tire we have run.

I got 2 sets of 2585's from "Carter-Maxwell Goodyear" in Oklahoma about a month ago. They MAY have  a set but would look into it ASAP.
That is the only tire I like to run because of the weight. I have a set of Goodyear 33x12.5 that are 8 pounds heavier than the 31x12 Goodyear 2585....and that's per tire
I run a 4.30 rear gear and a 1.69 1st gear. 
Leave the tubes for the bikes.
Also, the 2585's are notorious for slowly leaking air so rub dawn dishwashing liquid on the inside of the tire before you mount them to keep it from leaking air.

From an un-proven combination perspective it doesn't make sense to acquire the Goodyear D2585 slicks because eventually they will be non-existent.  You're only buying yourself a year or so.  Might as well go to the Hoosier or M/T now and bite the R&D Tuning bullet now, right?

I have some NEW GoodYear D2585, 31x12x15 tires. When I found out the D2585's were not going to be on a production schedule for 2012 and 2013, I pre-sold 180 tires and GoodYear made another batch for us.

Call me, 805-444-4489 [ Calif] if you'd like the light weight, 22.6 lbs, tires. All other choices weigh 8 lbs more per tire. The D2585 is what is very successful on JrFuel FED's.

Hi Jon,
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question.  I will have my chassis builder give you a call to discuss the slicks, we will also need front tires and spoke wheels, as we are just starting a new chassis build.
