Hi Spud,
If you had a 6 GPM pump and fed it with a -10 line vs. a -12 line is there any advantage or disadvantage to ultimate pump output?

 As long as everything is optimal (gravity fed, etc.) then you'll be ok. If it has to draw far or there's a funky 90 degree fitting in there or something like that you might have trouble. -10 is the smallest I'd ever use on a 6 GPM pump.

I have been looking @ the inlet size also. What good is a a -12 or -16 line if the fitting that screws into the PUMP is only a -8. I understand that a 6 gpm pump would not present a problem, however I can speak from experience that a 7 gpm pump with the -8 threaded inlet is on the edge with alky.

Hilborn & Enderle  supply a PORTED inlet fitting, usually steel and is bored to  thin +  and flow's far more than a -8 std fitting.

Heck I have 1" line and feel its small and thats with large radius sweeping 90.
