how consistent with 30 to 35% load
« on: September 26, 2015, 11:16:50 AM »
Wondering how consistent 35% or so load is and if there is a % that seems to be less effected by mild changes in weather. Around here sometimes you can get stuck in lanes good while and see some change in atmosphere conditions.     wondering how much change  performance.

Also while on topic. Is running 35% with 6.85 gpm pump on injected 526 ci motor with 12.5:1( can change from 11.5 to 13 with gaskets) with 296@.50 cam fairly safe ?

Seriously not enough pump, why be on the marginal side when a 13 gal can be trimmed back to run safely

13 gpm? 11.6 @ 100 # is max allowed in A/Fuel with 100% if want.I am sending 4gpm back to tank now.  35% seems like it would be small increase in fuel requirement.FIE calculator only shows .015 jet change when going from 35 to o percent.

You did not state your purpose and I cant remember everything, So 11.6 is better than 6+ gallons, the deal is when that 80a pump goes soft it does it quickly, Better to have more available to crutch with. More than once I had friends burn up engines because the pump went soft and did not catch it--and thats with straight alc

Not 80A its DSR dual gear pump.I agree 80A's go bad pretty quick and fairly easily. Reasoni wnt with DSR.Not saying i can run A/Fuel.Would have to change few other things and get better paying gig.Just giving example as to why it would seem the 6.85 gpm should not be problem with 35%.
