« on: May 30, 2014, 09:20:40 AM »
just changed the gear ratio in my 8 3/4 olds and after getting it back together thought should I have greased the coupler? wasn't any in there when I took it apart, but should it have some?
thanks in advance

8 3/4 "OLDS"???    I always use a little anti-seeze before install but if its all together some spray graphite could be used but since there is no movement within the mesh its not nessasary to grease

All the top fuel teams used to and maybe still use Krytox grease--crazy expensive made for the space shuttle or some such--stupid expensive but...my top fuel crew pal said the stuff Really Works for no wear in coupler
again--when you look up the price you will shudder!
I used a tad of anti seize on mine --not too much or it will sling it all over everything
I have always had a fascination with fast cars at the expense of more normal character development

I lube mine about every other year.  No wear noticeable at all.

I use dry graphite.
