Do you have a manufacturer or part number of what you're using?
Thanks

Paid the same. The purchase was very much like a drug deal , go way down this alley, cash only, no receipts and I've never seen you before. Addiction takes you places you never thought you'd go.

This is the label on the barrel I bought last year

Seems like you were using a higher voltage battery like 16V? If you increase the voltage you will increase the current draw( ohms law: E=IxR) you could put say a 1 ohm resistor in series with the solenoid which would decrease the amperage to around 8 amps , not the 1.5 A solenoid but may be useable. Just verify that the solenoid opens because the magnetism will decrease.

How many amps does the present solenoid draw? What do you consider low amperage?

I believe Spud Miller is still using one on his injected nitro SBC. I've been using the same one one my injected (less) nitro BBC for 10 years. No issues with me.

33% and under my alcohol tune up and nitro tune ups were the same. My experience is the more nitro the greater effect on the converter. In my case I slowed down the more % I added.

What jetting/ timing changes did you make for 25% if any?

Electronics / Re: Wiring a relay

If the pin numbers on the bottom of the relay are 30, 87,87A,85 & 86, then pin 85 and 86 are the controlled pins, low amp(B+ and ground) which when completed, pin 30( main B+, your high amperage source) will connect to pin 87 (your high load component), 87A is connected to pin 30 when the relay is off.

I use an Oberg, you can catch many things when they are small before they become catastrophic.

As a side note during this I did try different oils. Brad Penn and Valvoline VR1, had the ring issues with both but never a bearing issue with either. Glad to help.
