SOUNDED LIKE YOUR SBC LIKED THE POP...

Oh yea !

I used that tire and it was very good . My best ever E.T. was on that tire a 7.34 at 181 and that was with a 4.86 gear ! The only reason we went to the taller tire was when we started spraying with nitrous it would blow the tires right off . I am having decent luck with the 12x33 Hoosiers but I still think the Goodyear tire was better.

I reluctantly bought a set of the Hoosier JR fuel tires. They will hookup OK but it cost some ET and I don't see much growth. I am going to Indy Saturday. Maybe I can find a set there.

Well...I hope you are right George and they ARE fast. I know a couple of A/ND guys that are going real fast with the slightly taller (33") and heavier tires. Mine is a less powerful B/ND so I think the 2585s will be okay.

I think you will be very happy with them.

Got three sets of new D2585s coming my way. Should last me for a while.

Not a whole lot of rubber on those BUT they are the only tire I have found to go fast.

Thanks. Been enjoying following your adventures too.

We run all 1/8 mile and I wanted a 31" so we ended up with this. We talked to Hoosier, they are planning to take some weight out of this design. The nitro is going to challenge traction and the stiff sidewall is going to hurt tire growth. I felt like we at least 2 mph short last weekend.

If I don't get the car sold soon I'll start to work on the blower engine. Our season is coming to a close.

I saw one of those come up from the bottom in a crab trap in last season's " Deadliest Catch"!  :o

A deep sea creature!

LOL, George

George It seem's like it helped quite a bit considering it was so humid ! After the Hot Rod National's I would like to test with a small amount of nitro or some m5 . Thank's for sharing your information with us.

We tried M5 last year and didn't see any difference. I was pleasantly surprised with the results of our testing. September 7th we will step it up  a bit more but not over 20 %.

Yeah... that's what the 98% guys always say  :-)

Good luck and keep us posted, I'm also tempted to try it some day.

Actually I am looking to run 4.99 or so. I don't need to go any quicker . So 5% more should be plenty. I'm betting what I have tests below 10 %.

We got the itch to try some nito. I was only able to get 66 oz of the stuff. I mixed it with 4 gallons.  After 4 runs testing last night  I drained the fuel system and used the 11. % (BV) mix. It took a few seconds and the engine changed it's tone. We made two runs with the mix and picked up everywhere. I had left my Race Air at the shop so I can't say what the conditions were but it had been 85+ and humid. Our 60' improved from 1.13 to 1.09, Et from 5.23 to 5.11 and MPH picked up about 1 to 136. I ran a 78 in the main bypass with no high speed , 14as nozzles, didn't see more than 65psi in the fuel system. I'm suspecting the Waterman 400 might be an issue.

Run #2 with mixed fuel.
1.0989 - 60'
3.2718 -330'
4.7849 -594' et
5.1160 -660' et
135.94 - mph

Runs were made with Hoosier 12 x 31 JR fuel tire. I am real sure my old Goodyear 2585s would be faster but I am saving them for our last scheduled race, September 7th.

Can not say for sure, but we know there where non as famous as Jungle Pam,which maybe why we never heard of the rest.  Close look at her and shes not gorgeous but had one heck of body and from stands thats about all enyone could really see. I hear she had a face also but never got that high while watching her,cpl things keep destracting me.

Interested in seeing answer to the OP question.

Is it Brodie thats doing the backup girl now. Bad for sponsorship,I never see the car.

I have known Jungle Pam for about 25 years now and she is a very nice (and very good looking) lady.
The gal backing up Bob Bode is his wife Alice.

Roo

I spoke with her in the campground at HHRR this year. I totally agree with you Roo! Fine lady!

Apparently Sat aft mike discovered why the rule book specs a neutral safety switch. My old boss stopped by Mikes and asked to see the  run. Mike said when he fired it he forgot he had put it in reverse to roll it. (he hasn't got his shifter linkage sorted out yet) Luckily he was in it at the time. That is the first it has moved under its own power. Said that night he backed it back in the garage the same way. He was going to work on the linkage tonight. I heard it running about 7.30 even though he lives a couple of miles away in the valley so maybe he has that sorted out. Says it runs fine . We haven't set anything yet. It is just as it was for initial firing.
