The only dealer that has a real stock on the shelves at all times of -15 and -20 is Biondo in NJ
They are racers and offer Excellent customer service to all racers--They keep every size of two piece and one piece suits ON THE SHELF--they are very helpful with sizing and when i got my new SFI -15 Sparco it was too small--they admitted they helped with sizing and exchanged it fast as could be with Zero lip or attitude.
The Sparco X Light suit I bought is very comfortable--high quality construction and was DEEPLY discounted vs other dealers---they also offer NHRA discount.  I lost an arm restraint in the pits and when i called he sent me two more next day with a smile
Biondo customer for life here--they do  it old style and with style and..... best $$$ on the market.

2x....love my sparco -15 x-lite

I guess that's the million dollar question. I guess it depends on how bad you want to get rid of it. Seen some nice cars on there for a fair price, but I would'nt  sell myself short, your's is a beautiful car.

I'll second that. Been looking at new planteries for my powerglide with differant ratios. What's the benefit of a 1.69 over a 1.76 or mas's 1.80?

JanJon, your heads may not have "been-whacked-to xxxx" to get compression. My JF SBC heads have not been milled, and my intake valve stick out from the edge of the deck surface of the heads.
When I have time, I'm getting our dragster ready for the March Meet, I'll take some pictures of my current heads and post them here.
In the meantime, here is a picture of one on my busted heads, when the trans shifted into neutral instead of high gear and the motor went to 12,500 rpm. Just look at the good combustion camber , not the busted one. If someone milled the xxxx off you heads you would have alignment issues, with head bolts, intake manifold etc.  Bottom line no matter how much energy you have, a good race motor has higher compression than your "back-n-forth " work car. And even higher compression if you are burning alky. You'll be surprised how much higher compression will "wake up your motor !"  10 Custom made [ with mold] Pistons , rings, pins cost me $1200, I think off- the- shelf high compression pistons will be allot less. Our current pistons are from CP.

I hope this helps,
Jon

OUCH!!!!

I agree, run it and than change it, and change one thing at a time so you know the result of the change.

Ditto

Drag Racing / Re: March Meet and Weather

Made the pilgramage to the march meet fot the first time last year and had a blast. First thing I would suggest is booking a room early. I decideed to go again this yr. And already have my room reserved...FYI... the Best Western in Wasco, 6 miles from the track if I remmember correctly.  They are only letting you reserve the room if you book it for the entire weekend including Friday.
As far as weather goes, you might need a light jacket or sweat shirt if it is cloudy and the wind is blowing. When I was there last yr a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen where a must.

P.S. if you need the # for the Best Western it is (661)758-1111

Pipe Dreams, how much did your performance improve when you went from 33x12 MH to 31x10.5 Hoosier ? And what width rims are you using ? And Oh Ya what tire pressure is working best for you ?

Jon
Picked up a consistent.03 to a best .05  in 60'.  The M&H tires are a really soft compound that was designed for N/TF and I had put them on the car right after I had finished building the car. Not knowing how much a fed likes wheel speed.
The Rims are an old set of 15x10 ansens. Tire pressure 6.5 to 7 depending on the track. Hoping to gain a little more with the d2585's from you when they come in.
I' m on the list for 2 tires, right?

Mopar Tax...... tell me about it. Man, if i could only get a tax break and be able to fit a big block mopar in the frame. You chevy guy's have it made. I do get a certain satisfaction from putting a big block chevy RED on the trailer with my small block mopar though.
Got the motor out right now to freshen for next yr. Changing cams and getting the heads cnc ported. Looking to see if we can step-up and run with Glenn in the 8.0 class next yr.
Here' what she is right now.
She's  a 1970 170" Woody
415 SBM 12.8/1cr with Indy 360-1 heads
Enderle two holer injected on alky
Glide w/ 8 3/4   4.30 gears
Had been running 33x12 M&H now on 31x10.5 Hoosiers.
Best so far 8.41@159
5.30 @129   1/8
1.15 sixty foot leaving at 2,200

I keep my battery on an automatic trickle charger (battery tender) at all times. Never have to worry about state of charge.   Bought a set of wheel dollies to spin the car around then the pit are tight. At the end of the day while the motor is hot I put a shop vac in the valve cover oil fill hole and draw cool air through the motor to cool it down and to avoid any alcohol or water condensation back into the oil.
