Title: Kingpin bushing wear
Post by: Radar on June 13, 2023, 05:51:04 PM
My kingpin bushings are worn but I don't know how much play is acceptable.  With the weight off the tires I can rock the tire back and forth and measure 0.5 degrees of camber change.  My dial indicator has vanished so I can't get an exact clearance measurement yet.

What is an acceptable amount of kingpin play and what is the best way to measure it?

If I need to replace the bushings, who can I send the spindles to to get them done properly?  These are PS spindles and I am pretty sure they are old style.

Thanks

Not the right way to fix it.I have used shim stock or very thin feeler gauge to tighten them up. You can order new ones for spindles, but they have to be line honed to fit pins. Option two call Fran Parks and order new.If zero weight on front end go for the aluminum ones.
