Kinda depends on engine size & percentage of nitro...dash 1 pump would work for just cackle along
with most any cool heat range plug. If you try to race, it's way more critical. Spud Miller (on this forum)
has a calculator that will get you in the ballpark and help you set the leakdown of your barrel valve.

If it's under 410 cu in and under  70% nitro a tested  dash 1 pump will be fine  7.0 gpm.
Nozles will ultimatly depend on the pump, compression, heads, and size of the throttle  bores.
With nitro % you should call me for calculations, with just alcohol  it is a lot easier.

IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE FINDING A CORRECT PUMP ARE YOU SURE YOUR READY FOR FUEL ? ITS NOT FOR BEGINNERS AND CAN GET VERY COSTLY VERY QUICK. THATS WHY ITS CALLED POP OR "NITRO" CREW ON SOME FUEL TEAMS AND LET THEM TEACH YOU FIRST. JMO

On a kind of related note, say I plan on running alcohol for passes but would like to do some cackle deals maybe 4-5 times a year.

Throw the smallest pill I've got in there and let her eat or does sitting there at idle and hitting the throttle a couple of times require a bit more thinking?  :D

I ran nitro in the 60's and recently from 2004-2008 in 372" dart little M. Best ET on 80% was 7.25 @ 189 and have all runs documented from 30% to 80% before the wheels came off.
