Title: New chassis build.
Post by: Hotrod200 on November 22, 2014, 05:48:00 PM
Have been wanting to build a front engine car for a long time and I have now accumulated alot of the parts and looking at many pics of chassis online, etc. I want to build a very period looking 180 inch 1968-1970 dragster but I want it as safe as I can, if I was to build it to the latest NHRA heritage series specs 2.2c I think it is for a front engine, would the chassis be to stiff for a blown alcohol combo?
Any thoughts or advice going into this is much appreciated, how far to go engine out etc...
Thanks

You want to build to the latest 2.4 spec which is legal to 6.00.  2.2 is a fuel spec and unless you plan to run fuel and go quicker then 6 seconds, its a lot of extra tubing for what you are planning--kinda overkill
