I simply had a light mounted on the turtle deck of my 23T.

On my old slingshot, I used a bicycle tail lamp, it was LED, had an integral battery, and came with a round bar clamp which fixed to my helmet bars nicely.

I can see the purpose of a light on the back of bracket cars and such where they run at night and rather quickly and no chutes. But when running blown cars (or fast) that require chutes (obscures the tail light) the track is supposed to have the proper safety crew on top to relay that the track is clear or there is a problem. Never was asked to have a light 7.60 and faster. But I do carry in the toolbox a clip-on bicycle(battery powered) just in case.

I think it is a good idea on all cars that run at night. Mine is a simple LED light from Northern Tools that does not weigh much of anything and works good.
