George I don't know if this will help you but I run a 7al3 box in my car and have had no issues at all with it . My motor has 14.8 compression on alcohol and we have sprayed it with a 250 shot of nitrous . I really have nothing to compare it to as I have never tried a mag in mine

Did a little more testing this past weekend with my son's car . We are trying 2 nitrous systers on it . It will make about 1500 hp with both systems . Lebanon valley was not too good very hot and humid . The altitude was 3300 ft and the track was greasy . We still managed to go 6.96 and 198 with a lot of tire shake . We are getting his car ready for the divisional at Epping . As soon as this race is over we will be out with my car .

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: Rear Diff, Posi/open/spool?
« on: July 08, 2013, 01:42:54 PM »
Please put a spool in it . Back in the day we ran open rears and they are dangerous ! Broken spider gears and the pins that go through them are what will hurt you if you break a rear . I have seen a few guy's put them in there cars and it really scares me . Use a spool and don't put too big of a tire on it . An FED need's a lot of wheel speed to go fast . Be safe and have fun.

I remember Raceway park and Epping had them . They were used just for warming up your motor's in the morning so you wouldn't waste time pushing them up and down the track

Unfortunatly I only have a couple of pictures of that car .That was my first dragster around 69 and 70

Chris I like the idea of the rear wing . I am thinking about one for my car for stability. On a spray pass with mine it tend's to walk around on the top end with those small 12 inch tires . How come your rendering is red and white if you like blue so much !

Billy dose a lot of the work himself so I would have to say right around 35 thou is close . A good set of head's from Slawco or CFE are around 15 k now throw in a manifold for another 4 and you are getting up there! Comp is still my favorite class and I would run it if i could afford to.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's we ran a 2 speed trans . It was a side shift out of a Chevy truck . It was very short and used the same main case as a t 10 4 speed . I think it was a t 89 trans . Not 100 percent shure though . If you really want to do something fun why don't you try to find an old clutchflite trans !

Hey Chuck Had a great time on Thursday and Friday . It was really cool to watch the pro cars there without the big modern tower . Yes I will be at the Divisional with my son and his Top Dragster . I hope we can get to meet each other . I see Scott and Frank set a new record again . I will be with this car

If you stand at the fence right by the starting line you are about only 15 feet away from the cars . very entertaining .

Roo Man's Room / Re: MIG welded mild steel chassis ??
« on: June 16, 2013, 09:42:33 AM »
I would have to say if you are going to build it why not use chrome moly . It is lighter because of the wall thickness and a whole lot safer . if you are good at mig welding I am shure you can be a good tig welder . Now get to work on that car!
