Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / P-G rebuild
« on: August 31, 2016, 04:23:41 PM »
I rebuild my P-G,I replaced reverse frictions with good parts from TSR.Old frictions looked like new,but transbrake would not hold  above 3500 rpm. When setting clutch pac went from .085 [tsr settting] to .070 BTE setting [new brake]. went  from ATI 20wt fluid to dextron full synthetic.I have lost .06 to .08 in et. Trans works great, brake holds at 5000 stall, but I am slower. Is the rear clutch pac to tight or is it the fluid?

Had trans repaired and was told threads at TB solenoid were weak.Solenoid was installed with J-B Weld in case. Solenoid started to push out of case!! What is a good fix for case threads? [ over 30 runs on last fix].
