Title: Soapy Sales Dragster
Post by: Paladin AA/FA on October 28, 2013, 05:46:07 PM
Hey Rio,

I see there is a Soapy Sales Dragster that has been restored in California.  Is the same you had or do you still have yours?

Your former crew guy,

Vince,
the car that Tommy debuted at the CHRR is the Woody car that is Soapy Sales 2. The one that I have is #3, the Don Long chassis and the last of the front motor SS cars.

I'm glad you still have it.  Did your car end up in Australia, then come back to the US?

The first run that my car ever made was in Australia and I was there at the time. Actually I was standing alongside it when they fired it in the pits, the first time that it ever hit a lick. It came back to the US when Huff got his back motor Long car (driven in Oz by Ash Marshall) and Uyehara ran it a few times (he said 4 to 6 events) before he too went to a rear engine car. After that it worked its way down the food chain (A/D. A/ED, bracket car) before I found it.

Thanks Roo,

It's great that you have a car that means something to you and others.  It's in good hands.
