A while back I saw a slow motion video showing a distinct relationship to the size and location of the slick rinckles to the amount of screws. Any body else catch this?

I also have pee rock and sand a flyin at the burn out hit. Outer ware has a product to cover stacks. It can be pulled off before staging. Gotta be a little careful though as it is not backfire proof.

As it would pertain to FED's. To screw or not to screw. Keep it clean guys. This has quite a bit of chatter with newer compounds and rims. Much of the info out there is for heavy cars and 12 to 14 lbs pressure. I've always screwed the rims down in the past. I tried a new technique recommended to me. Mount without bead grease and use Aqua Net hair spray to act as seating lube and glue. I did it at the end of the season and didn't get a chance finish running the experiment. Seems like screws bead locks are the norm. What do you run?

I'm interested in this too Paul. I moved my chute lever from my brake handle (didn't like that as it was ez to snag on the way into the car) to my dash. Getting used to it but not so sure about that either.

Funny. I asked Tim from Ultradyne cams the same thing yesterday when ordering a cam. He was telling me about an all alum. and billet 16 cyl. based on the LS1 but double long. 4 turbos 4000 TQ and over 4300 HP.

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / Re: Solid SBC Heads

Thanks for the replies guys.
George. The heads have no coolant passages. I was wondering if it might be advantageous to continue to run water in the little M block. Drill up from an existing water passage into the head between the center exhaust ports. Below the header flange another hole would be drilled to meet the first hole on about a 90 degree angle. I could then circulate the water threw the block and heads with a small electric pump. Over all head cooling would be minimal but it may ward off potential problems in the hottest head area. Just a line of thought to run by you guys.

I recently purchased a set of used Brodix -12 Solid heads. Frankenstein Cylinder Head Works has done a ton of port work on these heads They flow  over 40 CFM more than my old - 12 water heads. I was running a gravity / static non circulating water system on the old heads. I'm new to running a solid dry head. I was thinking of plumbing a water line between the center exhaust ports. Is it necessary?

Thanks 231
I assume smaller pump (engine) displacement could be made up by for by higher pump speed and still approximate the 2.2 HP per cfm rule. Using my assumption the pump would have no regard for bore vs stroke Just CFM. The pump configuration is what intrigues me.
