From a fabrication and craftsmanship standpoint, if there were anybody I would wish to be, it would be Tom Hannah. Mucho kudos to Rooman, too.

I like the look of short bodies, a digger should not be ashamed of its frontal skeleton or the support elements there mounted...

Does anyone know where I might find block bolt patterns, front and rear, for small block Chevy, for purposes of building engine plates? Any help appreciated.

Rooman, could you possibly post a pic or two of what you we just talking about on the crossbar? And including the McKinney adjuster? I am fabbing a 5' setup for my car, possibly could get some ideas from that. And also, what does the wheel attachment look like? Thanks for any help!

I did that ONCE, left the wheelie bar off because I didn't seem to need it, the front went way up just like that, and I didn't get it back down without some front wheel damage. Wheelie bars back on thereafter. I'm in the process of fabricating a new single-wheel bar, 5 feet out.

Thanks, Roo for the response and your input. Would you say that cold-finished steel strip is either inherently, or more likely, to be of better quality than hot-rolled stock?

Can mild steel plates, brackets, tabs, etc. be properly and effectively welded to chromemoly tubing of my FED chassis? I am needing to relocate the gas pedal mounting on my car and need a plate welded between two crossmembers to do this, I have ms plate laying around but do I need to get 4130?
