Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Re: torque convertor and blower

Dean a good converter company will be able to lead you in the right direction. TCS Performance in AZ has been a lot of help and very good customer service for us. Spec rite is close to you but I would not recommend them as for customer service stinks and they never got our converter right and charged for every change they made. TCS is a lot like Continental Torque Converters(now closed). The owners appear to have been friends for a very long time... A1 also seems to be very popular.

I will email and see if I get a response... Have you called Waterman and asked them? If he indeed bought all the left overs they should know of him possibly. I have talked to Jim a couple times but never had any dealings with him. The Injectorators were kind of an odd duck. Not too many people even know what they are. I will let you know if he responds.

We ran 14x32 slicks on a fed, prob not as much power as your deal but from my time at the track I would suggest to start at 6psi or lower unless prep stinks. At Bakersfield we could not run much over 5psi but the track prep was excellent every time. 10' wheel stands and broken wheelie bars are not very hard to do even with 40lbs on the nose along with everything else... I am no pro but we have broken a few things in the learning curve.  ;D

MPH was the same that day, but I don't think the tune where it needed to be, was still a little lean. Just got it close on the last pass. 60' was better by .05 and it picked up 3 mph on the last jet change. There was just not enough time to make enough changes to get it happy.

injected alky shift 7500 rpm, thru traps at 7800.

I have played the zoomie vs header on a 565bbc in a fed. The biggest difference was the tune up. Headers required quite a bit more fuel and made a ton more power down low. I would say headers make more power but too many changes needed to be made to get good results. Had to leave at a much lower rpm also or would just blow the slicks off at the hit with the headers. Was fun to do.
