Rear Engine Dragsters / More runs made
« on: December 31, 2018, 06:49:29 AM »
Ended out the year ok.  We went to the track two more times,  still have a non working transbrake , but ended up in the low 5.90's, leaving the line at 2800.  Have new parts coming, will work on transmission.

We use a B&M Pro Stick, doesn't take up much room.  mounted on right hand side, there isn't any spare room.

noslin,  Yes we plumbed our gauge to #2 and yes, I was told 200-250 would be good numbers.   We have a new Reid superglide pump coming and we bought the J.W. Transmission manual.  Going to take it out tomorrow for the final time this year and then it comes apart.

Tires are 14.5x32 and the 4.10 gear is what was in it.  Most good race converters say, heavy duty sprag.    Thanks Guys.

Here it is , I'm looking at converters.  We have a 1500# R.E.D.  336 c.i. chevy, we are going to leave the line at 5000-5500, we have a 4:10 gear, so let's hear it.  Sprag or Spragless. We do drive the car to the lanes and back to the pits.  Let me have it!!!!

If I were to buy a good handbook/manual on a powerglide, what would you guys suggest?   Tell my what you have, there are a bunch of them out there.

We checked pressure yesterday, it only has 125 psi.  @ 3000 RPM.  So we will play at test and tunes a few times then pull it out. Thanks guys

So where do I hook my gauge to check pump pressure?  Do I need to remove trans-shield?

I have a TCI powerglide, I see a 1/8NPT port right in front servo cover angled downward.  Is this where I hook up my gauge to check pump pressure?  How much fluid will I lose when I remove the plug?

Dan, Where do I hook up my gauge by the servo? I was told I could torque the low band to "x" inch pounds and then back off "x" amount, can you fill me on the numbers?  We want to work on this tomorrow, any help will be greatly accepted.

Well, back at track finally.  Transbrake still not working but, at least it something different.   When Joshen hit the button on the line the car backed up about 6 inches.  What may that add to an already ugly situation?               Thanks
