Front Engine Dragsters / nostalgia eleminator type event
« on: December 18, 2018, 12:32:20 PM »
We are having a nostalgia race at our local track this year and im trying to organize a nostalgia eliminator class, front engine, center steer. No electronics. There are only a couple cars on our local area and am trying to draw some cars from the surrounding states. This will be a 2 day event and im raising up some decent prize money and am wondering what the best format would be to run. Would race both days and payout both days, or do qualifying or a test and tune first day and eliminations the next? Any input on what people like at other events would be great.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking of like a 6' bar between the digger and cart, I just wasn't sure how good it works or if there becomes any binding issues where it hooks to the dragster or if there would be to much movement with heim joints on both ends that could cause problems

Just wondering if anyone uses a push bar with a golf cart instead of towing back with a strap? We have had a couple incadents with a strap and was thinking about making a push bar instead.

I was also wondering about timing, I have a 383 Chevy with 9.6 static compression with a weiand 144 supercharger making 8psi of boost and am running vp12 fuel. I have had several recamendations  that are all over the board for spark plug heat range and timing, I'm running a ngk brk8 plug now and 34 deg of timing, just looking for a little advise on set up or what to look for to be efficient

I have a new qft  850 blower carb I have been dialing in the question I have is Holley says you need hallow nozzle screws for 40 and larger discharge nozzles will it matter if I run hallow on 35 nozzles?

There's allot of great info on this thread! I am running a sbc with a small blower and was wondering about what size of tubing, I have 2" that are approximately 16" from the flange to the tip. Would a 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 work better?

Do you have to send the case back every 5 years to recertify?

Is anyone using a CSR  supershield? I'm needing to update my tranny cover and flexplate shield and was looking at the csr, they seem to be tight fitting to not take up much room. I have a blanket on now and was wondering if this would be better.

Looking at an older fed, last time it was certified was 1994. What should I watch for and how much would need done to get 're certified? It's 4 hours away so I have only seen pictures and wondering if it's worth the drive to check out
