Nice going the idea is to have fun!as you get older it harder to do things on the list,when I was young like you I went to buy a sprintcar but couldn't fit in the cockpit I still want to try but might not be able to get it off the throttle stop never mind race it so do when you can

Good for you!you only get better with practice,study the lights so that you get the timing down and your reaction will improve.

Having problem removing stuck valves in 4l60e vb  a 1997and a1998 normally I can free them have done quite a few,  any ideas would be helpful thank you.

I've always used a flexible mount, and don't like that amount of weight hanging off the back of the motor , have also seen problems occur when mounted solid

you are right about changing the case but it's because it didn't have exterior lines, which you will need.

Never had problems tightening but always tugging on belts to tighten them,it's always hard doing belts up by yourself they never seem to be in the right place. i've had problems loosening belts driving other people's cars, one time had two people help me they were tight. I had a routine, lap belt was close to where it would be attach the crotch strap shoulder strap pull lap belt then crotch strap then shoulder harness as tight as possible. i've seen people get hurt because the belts were loose!

borrow scales form a circle track friend and see if you have a pre-load bias. inflating tires and putting them in the sun will make them grow,be careful people have been injured when tires have exploded or rims coming a part when over inflated

THAT IS THE IDEA. HAVING A GREAT TIME!!! we ran mostly door cars with electronics  the fed had foot brake but had a roll control on the shifter(LINE LOC) it was easier moving a finger than a foot.

does it launch straight at the lights?could be that the water box is not level could be worn crooked, are you the only one  that  has that problem, you have to remember door cars have a wider track. we were allowed to do burnouts pass the lights because we didn't have front brakes, so we ran through the water and did our burnouts a little closer to the line.

have used vw boxes  in the pass use tubing tapped with internal threads to extend the pitman shaft a nylon pillow block near the end of the extension, used various mounting methods of mounting pitman arm, from splined a flange welded to extension and a key way and pinched bolt in the pitman arm. used long arms as to clear headers and the two piece steering shaft followed the frame with a pivot with holes drilled 1 inch apart   to slow down speed  just in front of the motor and a bell- crank up front with two tie rods attached one going to each wheel (fed with 160 inch wb as to not run front suspension) you do not want the steering too fast!
