Title: SBC blower intake manifold... Don't fit. Help!
Post by: tcoupekyle on December 26, 2021, 04:43:10 PM
So I went to place the intake on my long block I finally got together. And the edges of the intake hit the little area where the valve cover seals. Anybody ran into this?

Thanks

Yes, typically you can grind a little off the intake manifold and it will fit just fine

I put it in the milling and cut each side, a grinder, sander or a file will work

I'm far from being an authority on anything, but some valve covers actually have a "notched" area of the outer lip where they are made to clear the runner portion of the intake manifold. Maybe the interference you have is too great for that to be enough to clear the intake/head/valve cover interface, but thought I'd just mention it.

Build pics.
I ended up using a grinder and made the intake fit nicely.
Thank you all for all the help.
