Title: Powerglide "Long" shorty cover

This is probably is silly question.

   Will an after market shorty cover fit over the governor support casting?

 My Glide I have found out has a rear pump which I would like to keep so I can do some demo Push starts if possible.

No a shorty cover will not fit over a stock rear pump assembly. How ever TCI makes a servo cover that is used for push starts on circle track  cars, that may help your project.        http://www.jegs.com/p/TCI/TCI-Powerglide-Push-Start-Kit/748514/10002/-1
