I am about to clean a 392 hemi block of all the internal water jacket rust prior to Moroso block filling.
My question is -
Has anyone used OXALIC ACID to clean a early hemi block of all the rust in the water jackets? If so please can you advise the ratio acid to water and approx time scale.
I intend to fully submurge the block in the liquid.
As I am on the Isle of Man, there is no professional service locally to carry out the task
thanks

Wanted to buy / 392 roller cam wanted
« on: January 06, 2018, 02:11:04 AM »
Wanted solid roller cam to suit methanol injected 671 blown 392 powered topolino altered.
Looking for a mid range profile between 5000 rpm - 7500 rpm which is not too hard on the valve train. I run after market billet roller rockers.
New or used considered, will take advise on the profile.
We are located on the Isle of Man UK.
BUT coming over to the March Meet so hopefully can collect there.

Would really appreciate help as struggling to find anyone reply to emails sent out.

Spud Miller's Cave / ETC limiter advise
« on: June 04, 2017, 02:51:39 PM »
Has anyone any experience with using an ETC limiter with a Mallory Mag. Ran the motor up yesterday with low settings to see how it limits the revs. It's reading approx 2000rpm higher than the tach! You can see in the vid the shift light flickering, it was set to 4,200rpm. When I hit the motor the rev limiter kicks in at 3000, it was set at 5000 at the time. Plus the boost gauge went up to 15psi this appears to be due to back fires when the limiter kicks in. Not overly keen on this as you might expect. Any advise would be appreciated.

Altereds / Nostalgia 102" iron 392 hemi Topolino front end question
« on: September 12, 2016, 12:59:49 PM »
Hi guys
Just wondered what your opinions are as to whether I look at my front end spring rate/damping adjustment after last weekends interesting ride. Waiting to hear back from the coil over supplier as to what spring rate is on there, although I think we are running 220lb springs

The car is new out this year and has made 12 runs mostly in the 8's and straight. Yesterday however I did get out of the groove and leant on the suspension more than previous. As you can see it likes to cock a rear  :o

cheers

Spud Miller's Cave / Fuel leaking from nozzle air bleed hole
« on: June 18, 2016, 01:25:38 PM »
Hi Guys
I am a complete novice to Enderle fuel injection and have a problem which I hope you can advise me on
After shutting the fuel off the motor shuts down as expected but methanol runs out of the air bleed hole on the injector nozzles. I have cleaned and checked for blockages in the injectors [all clear] and stripped the check valve which again is clean and functioning. It's a 2-3 psi as recommended by Good vibes.
I have not been able to check the leakdown As I am waiting on a tester arriving.
