Like it has been already said:
Lean, too much timing advance, too much engine load.
The crankshaft is being pushed counter-clockwise during detonation while the momentum is clockwise.
You need to richen up the fuel and back off the timing and sneak it back in a little at a time.
Get some help reading the plugs and pull the pan during the week and look at your bearings.
Sooner or later detonation will also crack the crankshaft.

Wanted to buy / Re: Rear Rims
« on: January 30, 2019, 01:48:22 PM »
I need a pair of rear rims for my FED  15 inches by 14 or 15 inches wide, 5 on 5 bolt pattern and with a 5 1/2 or 6 inch backspace

That's a lot of back space for a FED.
I use a 3" and could not use anything deeper on mine.

The only other thing to keep in mind is smaller holes are more easily plugged.

I run a Peterson external wet system. It works great.
A dry sump might be next. Peterson makes great stuff.

Roo Man's Room / Re: New front half
« on: September 21, 2018, 06:13:40 PM »
Well I contacted the Chassis Shop for a front axle.
They are not in production at this time and none in the near future.
Mark Williams and S&W race cars only sell wide ones.
I really like the look of the narrow front end but am wondering who to call now.
If anybody knows who to call let me know.
My needs are pretty common. 6" drop with SPE spindles.

Hello Paul:
Did you purchase the front axle or make it?
I'm looking for one that's less than 39" that's on my FED.
Thanks: Matt
