back to the fill i always run a see through plastic hose from the drain plug to the deck and remove it after the fill so the water can be emptied make it easier when doing maintenance
have also used it in street motors and inboard hydros help with good ring sealing

in my case the 400 was bored to 4.155 and filled it because of uneven wear pattern in the cylinders  poor ring sealing  the motor has been run for 2 seasons and the cylinders are straight and ring seal good

stroking normally helps there is one class i built motors for and we where allowed to stroke 3.48 to 3.50 it showed on the dyno we spent a lot of time on the dyno trying to get the most from a limited motor.

you should talk to tony at ross racing engines, you don't have to buy from him just pick his brain.
when you stroke a motor check to see what is available in rods and pistons  to get the right deck height stroking usually helps a lot the limiting(HP)factor will be the heads
how are you mounting your power glide that motor has a long over hang short bell housing i made a plate that bolts to the block and shortened and welded the trans housing
good luck! keep us posted

Spud Miller's Cave / electric lean-out
« on: September 21, 2016, 04:35:07 PM »
electric lean-outs are suppose to dump fuel when opened mine clicked and nothing happened i went as far as removing the jet. tried air instead of gas, i then disassembled it looking for blockage none found.
i activated the solenoid the plunger doesn't retract far enough i pushed on the plunger and it opened 1/3 of the port.
question: is there a way to adjust the travel or remove the plunger to slot the ports?
i bought this new from good vibrations
thank you,
 jeff

We use to tape a piece of leather or fabric across the nose hanging to the bottom of the helmet that way you don't breath into the helmet

ask other racers in your area who they use, if your guy hasn't done it in a year has no interest in doing it or doesn't know how. the guy I use index and cuts another groove and strokes it  and you get it back with in a week  and even does welded strokers on weird stuff from John Deere to rice burner
