Wanted to buy / wtb Small block Chevy blower manifold
« on: January 30, 2018, 10:57:40 AM »
Any SBC blower manifolds out there on a shelf?  looking for manifold with burst panel and standard runners.  Drilled for port nozzles and matched to a 1206 gasket would be a bonus.

Spud Miller's Cave / Re: ETC Rev Limiter Help needed!!
« on: July 05, 2016, 08:42:58 AM »
Thanks for the great info Spud.  I was also told an AM radio may assist in finding the interference, but no consistence to find.   I did see the Vertex coil case is cracked again.  the first is at the coil post and now the second is at the terminals.  Would this increase the issue or can I just epoxy again?  (only a 2 year old coil)

Also what gauge shielded wire should I run from the mag to coil to switch to rev limiter?

Spud Miller's Cave / ETC Rev Limiter Help needed!!
« on: July 04, 2016, 11:19:50 AM »
I have had this ETC Rev Limiter for 3 years now and it has yet to work right.  According to Hank it is picking up interference from the mag.  Seems the box could be shielded in some manor but I'm a mechanical eng. not a sparky.

I have Taylor spiral wires and have a separate battery supplying power, fuse box, grounded to the engine block and external coil.  Any help or tricks would be great.  Way too much $$$ into this and not have it work.

Welcome as well Jason,

sounds like we have similar roots (age as well). I have been burning dirt circles since 2001, Street stock, modified and late model.  I had the same fire of running a front engine dragster.  I built mine as well, same base chassis and DusterDave.   absolutely love it.  Albeit it is not the same as circles but in the fed it is a blast, I don't think I would say the same with a door car (done that as well).  I think the sweetest part is the fact the these dragster are not cookie cutters and can be done anyway you want to.  always keep safety in mind but don't get buffaloed by "experts" in the only way to do it is the way I say.

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: Chute Deployment for First Timer
« on: October 29, 2014, 07:07:12 AM »
looks like you already have the good advice.   but have to share this a friend of mine runs a 70 Gremlin.  With the iron 401(all motor) it was running 8.30s in the quarter, now with some upgrades and juice he is putting down 7.0s I asked where he feels the power/speed.  Fully expecting the 60ft or top end. He says when the chutes hit.  I thought that was pretty interesting that a speed freak would say the decel.

LMAO  Dave you know me and I am not hating back!   But your reply above is absolutely perfect to the impression pushed onto the rest of us (dummies).   By the way if you find 2 of those cars send the other to Northern Michigan.  We are looking for a Shrine for the sun to shine on in the middle of Winter.  Until then I am going to work on my reaction time as that seems to be the only anchor in my Worm car.
