I just got a set of 18225 from Bruce at Hoosier. I believe he is in the Midwest location. Very helpful guy. And I do believe they make one other slick very similar.
I expect it was Bruce Browning at Hoosier Tire Midwest. They have a location in Springfield Illinois. I have also spoke with him on the needs of the FED combination. He recommended the 12 x31 or a 12 x33. I race with several guys who run bigger Hoosiers but I am sold on the 18225. We also have a Hoosier dealer in Springfield . He might offer up a better deal? http://www.garyhoosierman.com/

I am about 10 miles from either location. George

This assembly is totally complete from brake to brake. It was removed from our FED. Has 4.88 pro gears. Mark Williams 35 spline aluminum spool and his drilled and lightened axles. It is a 742 iron housing . It is currently disassembled and comes with a extra bolts and bearings.  I will entertain offers and may trade for something we can use. I am in central Illinois. 62563 .I can send pictures to those interested .Thank you. George

I will say the belly pan was an EXCELLENT rock collector.  ::)

We ran a belly pan for several years. It ended up with slots in it for a tube crossing the chassis for wing mounting. The slots were almost to the pan bottom. Also found keeping the pads in the bottom of the pan an issue. It would be ugly to get a wad of absorbent pad in the flexplate/convertor. I agree the diaper holds heat but we don't hot lap and holding heat and controlling it I thinks helps with consistency in engine power output. Dennis Ridgeway is close and he built a Kevlar diaper that fits well and will contain more than the pan if needed. Absolutely GREAT product and service.

IMO, there are a few things that can ruin the looks of a FED and collector headers is #1.

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: What to look for when buying a used chassis...

We bought a FED in 2009 with an expired NHRA chassis tag. It was expired by several years. I called the NHRA office and was told expired chassis certifications were not on file. After the chassis failed an inspection I doubt the tag was legal and if it had been inspected at the time the tag was installed it got a "special deal". So, my take on a used chassis is: make it a current cert or know the SFI spec for the build. As for cracks and any other flaws it's buyer beware. I have only a few cars to draw real knowledge from. A point to consider is the transporting of the car/chassis can be a serious concern as far as chassis fatigue. It would be a good question to ask a seller as to how the car was secured and supported in transport. The used car is the best deal out there if you know what you are looking at. George

A SFI spec book would be a good start. http://sfifoundation.com/drag-racing-chassis/

George, Wasn't Sloan wanting to do something like this at CID in Havana. I didn't know it was with the Nostalgia Quick Series though. I understand where the fans may not relate. Even though body styles have changed considerably.

Yes , Jimmy has spoke to me about this. I believe he has a FED and is looking at a SBF project. I hope he can race with us again.

Allowing the RED into the Central Illinois based Nostalgia Quick Series has been considered a time or two but the general feeling is the spectator doesn't identify the more modern design as Nostalgia. I think the number of Rear Engine Dragsters in Quick 8-16 and Super Comp classes keeps the design a standard for modern dragsters and makes the FED "nostalgic".

NEVER trust a seller! A current SFI cert is a must. Unless you are ready to rebuild a chassis.
