Front Engine Dragsters / Inline 6 in FED?

My original plan was a 300 Ford six in mine but I had all the stuff for the V8!  I have a short block but no head I was told to use a 240 head but me finding one would be like me hitting the lottery   Any body on here run a six I just think they sound kinda neat and the 300 has gob's of torque should run a long time shifting under 6 grand

What car do you race and what kinda success  have you had I have raced just about everything in brackets with some pretty fair luck even won a track championship but this will be my new career in a FED (May be a short career )

What is the most common on a  fed the foot pedal with cable or linkage type? I like linkage but looks like I may not have the room Any pics or ideas on some different applications?

Roo Man's Room / FED short body build?

Roo what was your first body build was it a disaster or come out good?  I am not sure about that part of my build and besides it will be the most seen part I'm kinda scared of it Any body wanna share pics and maybe some input on that part? I love the chute-pac but my car won't look right with it!

I use the standard 22.5x17 tire on the front I see Goodyear also offers a 4in.does anybody else have something like that? Not really loyal to any brand would like a reasonably priced tire though!

I will never afford it but I like that class kinda like Comp Eliminator big bucks but great racing Are there any Ford engines in this class or is it a spec engine class? Is there a wheelbase limit also?

Roo Man's Room / Short or long Glide?

I am thinking about a shorty for my car I think with my peanut motor I won't have a wheelstand problem if so there is always wheeliebars   Who runs a short glide and what is the ratio?

I am gonna run the Phoenix 10x5.33 that is a big dang tire it is 12in. wide and has almost 104 rollout I like a tall narrow tire and not as much to drag around for my gutless wonder

Any idea on rear gear ratio just bracket car but want it to run good as possible?

I have about 4 convertor's but pretty sure I need the exact one for this car!

Anybody run a Paul's convertor he is from up North not sure what state?

What is legal as far as powdercoat and what about chrome? I know some of the coatings get frowned on

Roo Man's Room / Roll cage question ?

This is for anybody Why do so many hate the taller cages so much I would think it having better visibility and comfort would be better! Mine is a little taller but it's great for bracket racing you can see out really well and not as cramped. Actually at first I didn't like mine but I like it a lot better now I understand if you are going period correct but to race seems more visibility is favored

Are most of the Top Fuel cars now built with the taller cage?

Just wondering who's been quick in a short car and it not be a terror to drive? Like 150 and shorter! What is an average wheelbase on a FED?

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / My engine is a 331 Stroker 302, I'm putting the stroker parts into a 289 block?

Matt my engine is a 331 Stroker 302 base that I bracket raced in a door car great little motor at least till it split the block right down the middle of the lifter galley    No power adders and low rpm not sure of H.P. but it is nothing exotic at all! I am putting it back together using a 289 block hopefully it will last longer can't afford aftermarket block     I just bracket race but want it dependable though!!!

Roo Man's Room / Master Cyl?

Roo what type M/Cyl do I need for my build not sure if it will have drum or disc? The smaller bore M/Cyl seemed to work better when I had a Rear eng car it had drum brakes and it would stop as good as most of the disc cars!  Not saying drum is better I already have the stuff
