our first time, last may, we broke the dedenbear glide. too hot of summer so our next time out was sept. we were running a buick 4.1 v6. this is the 5th or 6th car this engine been in. we did a best of 11.77 @ 111. not bad for a tired engine. the buick 350 going in next should take into the low 9's to start.

started making header flanges for the buick for the zoomie bbc headers i bought off ebay. love making other brands fit the buick.  ;D  ;D

day off today. went to big al's toy box and swapped some parts so it make installing the 4-71 easier. was fun till his power went out.

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: What scares unbelievers most about your FED?

i passed(lost) one up 10 yrs. 2 yrs ago wife wanted another horse. ok by me. looking for my next winter engine project and remembered the fed. found one on c/l in cali and haven't looked back. door car sits in the tent now, lonesome, w/o an engine.
our first time racing we broke the dedenbear glide. 2nd time out,my son drove, did 11 passes. the more he drove it, the more he likes it. we take it out to car shows, throw the kids and adults in it. we start it up for them. love to watch the faces. i tell them how many of you are going to get to sit in a fed. i tell them real men drive front engine dragster. lot of fun racing and car shows with it. i love it.

that's different. what trans and rear are you using?

Buickfed, suggestion....get rid of the alternator and maybe a remote w/p unless you're gonna run alky. Then scrap the w/p too. :P

no can do. my son likes to do laps with the rail. ;D  besides i hate carrying all the other stuff to the race track. it's set up to run when we get to the track. if a minor break happens and can be fix, ok. major break, its on the trailer and we go partying.  ;D

other than snow, done nothing for over a week now.  still trying to figure out how i can make everything fit on front with the 4-71/350 buick. darn w/p and alt is in the way of the belt.

« on: February 08, 2013, 03:45:38 PM »
mine is a 192" and my plan down the road is to build a twin inline fed. pics of the rail are on my posting buickfed. from looking at those pics, do you think i can put 2 in it? also, the coupler for 2 engines, how many different styles are there?
thanks
john
