Roo Man's Room / rear end mounts
« on: November 08, 2015, 05:02:06 PM »
Hello Roo. I'm adding 2 more  bolts to the rear end mounts. in the sfi specs require square tubing to have 1" bosses welded in. what can a person use? It's 4130 tube.
Thanks
Barry.

sounds awesome Tony! keep up the progress reports! I just bought one for next year. Do you find starting in high gear better until you get some decent seat time in? I'm thinking slowly sneak up on it until you feel comfortable.

Front Engine Dragsters / 1pc or 2 pc suit?
« on: November 07, 2015, 07:49:10 PM »
Hi guys and gals
I need to purchase a -15 suit and haven't decided on a 1 or 2 pc suit. What do you use? 1 pc like coveralls or 2 pc as jacket and pants.
Any reason why?
I did a site search and Google one and nothing conclusive.
Thanks Barry.

ok. I will bring it back to where it was originally and set the engine high enough for the oil pan on both engine and trans so I can put a catch pan under the engine and seal the driver area with a nice belly pan. its tabbed on the bottom but will be cutting them off anyways. And will add 4 bolt hole mount to the rear end.

Had a look at some pics and I'll have to move it back to where it was.  There's no upright in the new location.

A quick measure from the rear of the block by the rear seal is 6 inches to the bottom of the pan. So probably 7 inch deep pan.

It's a stefs racing pan. I'm guessing 2 to 3 inches down. The problem is that the trans pan is just as low. I need to seal it off with the belly pan.

Front Engine Dragsters / new fed to me questions
« on: October 28, 2015, 07:54:06 PM »
Ok now that I have the fed at home, I have a few questions.
with a 2.6a- 7.50 spec, is 2 bolts per side for the rear mount ok? It has the anti rotation bar.
The gentleman who had it before me moved the mid plate out 6 inches so he could fit better (6 ft.+).
I have no problem with it out but the engine sits 2 to 21/2 inches too low.
I need to put a containment pan under the engine so I'd like to raise it up.
1- Put it back the 6 " and see if it comes up? I'll have to move the pedals if I do. it fits good now.
2- Just raise the engine and trans by redrilling/buy a new midplate?
Ideas?
Here is a few pics
Any guess who built it?
The previous owner didn't know.
Thanks in advance
Barry.
