less than .030 between the pistons and the head with steel rods and normal piston clearance I run pistons on the loose side so i need a little more you can get shim gaskets .016-.018 thick and you can get gaskets that measure your bore size most of the gaskets I use are custom

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: Cooling

i think we all went alky for the same reason because of heating now drive back to the pits no need to be towed like they said get the temp up to 200* when staging. to start cold with a carb filled the front tank with gas it will start and it keeps on running. just to say go straight to alky  good luck

we also used extended jets or jet extensions also a bigger jet in the right rear we could have had a bad manifold never had it flowed

we ran a belt driven pump to an alky carb with a poppet/check valve set at 9psi on a return line just changed to a flying toilet to get a more equal burn as one cylinder always ran hotter.

dreracecar is right, rolling starts only and you could burn it loading on the trailer.

Direct drive is no good for drag racing or street as you bypass the oil from the pump back to the pan to engage you close the valve as fast as possible so the band don't slip too much burning it out.worked good in a  dirt modified and the ice racer 35 yrs ago you could always go with a turbo clutch or a clutch flite

What has been said sounds right , but you have too remember all timing lights are different you always use the same one.when we ran gas. staged at 200*F had a rad a water pump still ran hot and had to tow it to the pits.then cool down in the pits. good luck

why not use offset dowel pins?

bikeguy is right  you need a master cylinder and the servo acts as the slave

With the the kit for the circle-glide you don't need a rear pump it engages the low band

the port i'm asked about is after the spool and before the injector lines and leak here will affect the fuel curve , on methanol i didn't have a problem but the customer wants to run gas.

thank you! yes it's a Hilborn system, i thought that that a regular check would lean it too much at top end

richardo1967  I've tried  but the the only way i can get it to run clean is by playing with the fuel shut-off
