Long story short. I machined a adapter midplate for lil brothers new project.A VW vr-6 turbo eninge to powerglide transmission.Lots of hours and cpl bags of chips.
Seems I have trans about .015 high. going to make inserts and drill to hopefully get dead on.
I know .0000 would be ideal, but in real world? How much tolerance is there in alignment?

why not use offset dowel pins?

I dont know but I think I would do what ever it took to be .000.
