2-3  ago went to semi fails at the reunion
current  driver is about 6 2, 225 lbs
no motor or trans
very different full body

have a after market block in the shop no name but has what looks like a olds emblem embossed on both sides, is this an old dart block? there I no oil filter boss ether. looks like a small block chevy.

 I'm trying something different,  building a 305 sprint car, (why is the right answers)  for a 14 year old driver, The price different is a lot between ARP studs and bolts no you think on a 305 450 hp max there is a need for studs?

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / SMALL BLOCK CHEVY HEAD

MATT,
removed the heads and on the exhaust side on the flat side of the head is a very dark almost black, 1/2 to 3/4 inch around the valve that almost looks burn. is this  very lean or normal the flames are a very pretty blue at night. also this is a dry block and heads

second is there a way to see if there is a crack in the  2 oil galleys in the block.
