Wanted to sell / 27 Ford Roadster

27 Ford Roadster minus engine and trans. Chromoly, ladder bar car. Has front brakes, 4.11 rear gears in a 9" ford rear. Larger cage. 7al3 msd ignition box. Certified NHRA in 2015 and IHRA in 2016. Belts new in 2015. Includes headers and engine plates for small block and big block Chevy. Currently was run with a big block and has run 5.19-1/8 mile and 8.46-1/4 mile.

Wanted to sell / 175" WB FED with All Aluminum SBC

2012 175" wb Mark Williams Kit Front Engine Dragster. Ford 9" Rear with 4.11 gears, Mark Williams Axles, Hoosier 32/14-15 tires (New last year), Solid Front Axle. Trans-Specialties Powerglide Transmission and torque converter with less than 50 passes on both.

All Aluminum 410ci small block Chevy. Rodeck block, Brodix -12 heads fully ported, Lunati crank, Oliver Rods, JE Pistons, T&D Shaft Rockers, Wolff 4 Stage Dry Sump System, KSE Front Cover with mechanical water pump. Kinsler 2 5/8 Injection with Down Nozzle (nozzles ported in heads), Kinsler mechanical fuel pump.

Car runs consistent 8.0's @ 166 and will dip into the 7.8's with the right conditions.

Spud Miller's Cave / Flat under low end Load

Ok guys, 175" WB FED, 410 SBC timing around 36 degrees, MSD Pro-Billet Dist, MSD Blaster 2 coil, MSD 6 ignition box, MSD starter saver, and MSD 2 step rev control.  Engine is fuel injected on Alcohol (down nozzles), Kinsler 450 mechanical pump.

The car on launch runs flat and breaks up.  Our first pass of the day our 60' times were 1.415ish and our normal 60' times are roughly 1.16ish.  It is flat then all of a sudden will pick up and our MPH on top end is normal 166MPH.

We tried leaning the barrel valve, then we tried richening the barrel valve, nothing made a difference.  And by the end of the day the engine would clean out until I hit high gear (powerglide) and then it would break up again. 

I'm pretty certain this is ignition, but where or what part of the ignition should I be looking at?  Our tach is the digital shift light with the tach built in, and it seems very erratic as well....

Spud Miller's Cave / 18V Battery to run Distributor?

I see Neil and Parks offers an 18V battery that is used instead of a larger automotive style battery.  On our car this would be powering our tach light, transbrake and the biggie, our msd distributor.  My question is, will the 18V battery work with a msd Distributor?

Front Engine Dragsters / Throttle linkage on Mechanical Fuel Injection

Ok guys, switching from a carb to MFI this winter and wondering how everyone is doing there throttle linkage on the pedal and on the injection.  Pictures would be awesome!  I don't believe our little cable that we used on our carb linkage will hold up on the MFI.

Front Engine Dragsters / 1st passes, finally!

After many hours of hard work, my dad and I finally got our car to the track yesterday.  Neither of us have our license, I'm planning on going for mine next week.  Car was  a dream to drive straight as an arrow!  The car is an 2001 Mark Williams that we lengthened from 140" to 175" with a 400 SBC.  (sorry guys, I know the headers and carb aren't ideal!)  I've run dirt track open wheel cars since I was 7 years old (i'm now 31) and my dad was a drag racer 30 years ago.  My parents first date was York US30 dragway.  All and all and great day until we found a caliper leaking brake fluid and put the car in the trailer.  We'll get it fixed up and try again this coming week!
