 few more from the closet

Hard to decide if this would be a gasser or an altered class car.

Got the body on the car and the trailer stocked and ready to go. Finally getting warm now but it needs to stop raining. Set up for Wednesday for T&T and my license runs so I can get legal to run at a good track. Its rained for the last couple days and is supposed to quit for Wednesday. Fingers are crossed. Its been a long wait for the weather to break to even go to the track, crazy summer so far.

Had a break in the weather yesterday, high of 58, good enough to at least try and start the car. Ive made a lot of changes to the car so I was hesitant it was even going to start. Fired right up like a champ. Its got a lean condition ive got to work out, it can be heard at about 3.12 in the video. Close now, body goes on this week and hopefully a T&T on the 20th, fingers crossed. OMG have I gotta lose some weight. Maybe the camera added 40 lbs to me, NOT !

Ive been fighting this new brake set up. Ford center section, Dana tubes and flanges, and GM bolt pattern for the wheels with current GM Vette calipers and rotors. I am changing it all to a Wilwood set up. Of coarse its all for a Ford in the kit.

I did have the chassis recertified this morning though and that's A-OK.

Mike, Ive got a set of 225Diggers zoomies and they are very nice and price is really unbelievably reasonable. You for sure get a great set of pipes for the money.

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / Re: SBC #4000 Comp Cams revkit question

I got with Comp Cams. Their lifters are almost 1/2 inch longer then my Lunatis. Soooo I just decided to run without them, ive never ran them before and can only hope for the best. I am not sure if Lunati makes a set for their lifters or not, but I am out of time and just need to keep assymbling this thing so I can hit the track in 3 weeks. Also my lifters are spring loaded themselves. They are made to do a cam change without removing the intake, carb, etc. Just remove the pushrods and the lifters spring back from the lobes.

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / SBC #4000 Comp Cams revkit question
« on: March 10, 2013, 03:22:32 PM »
Its my first experience with a rev kit, it came with no instructions what so ever, its a no brainer of how it should go together with the contents of the box. I did watch a youtube install of the kit on a few lifters and that guy was really working to get the springs in with a small compressor. I used only my fingers, some were tight obviously on the high side of the cam. But its the low side of the cam I am in question about. They will not fall out by any means, but they can easily be removed buy pushing the lifter down. Is this normal?

Gassers / Re: What did you do on your Gasser TODAY?
« on: March 10, 2013, 03:11:05 PM »
A close friend of mine is building this willys, and has been for a long while now. It is an all steel Willys except the doors, its a I think a 392 Hemi beast. Hes not computer savy so I will throw these up for him. I cant say if and when it will see the light of day but its coming along. His build is more of a Pro Street approach. Hes done some rear floor work and a few other things since I took these I will update sometime.

I think the gasses are so far and few between beacuse of their being so hard to find a good one and so costly to build one. I have a friend building a more pro street leven willys, I will toss it in there.
