Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Monitoring your Glide's health
« on: January 16, 2015, 09:46:30 AM »
Hello Dan:
Say a question fer ya.
So we found a Trans temp gauge to be a great asset for judging the next round. Also in just keeping an eye on it. As we are lucky that most days we can get a good number of runs in on our local track.
So with our new deal going together, it is going to have a glide ::).

 - With regards to pressure. Is it possible to say you have x components, in x car, you need x pressure and it should stay at x range..
 -  Is it a good idea to keep a pressure gauge on the trans so you can keep an eye on it?
 - Should said gauge have a telltale so you can see max on the run?
 -  Does pressure go up or peak on the run ?
 - Or is just putting a gauge on it once in awhile OK?
 - On a glide pressure is taken off Servo?
 -  is line pressure important?

Not good at putting thoughts to words. Please excuse the lameness and thank you for your time.

Roo Man's Room / Full Bore
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:02:28 AM »
Hi Roo and all:
So I went to the full-bore site to see about ordering a few extra Super Buttons and whoa. No longer available ???
http://www.fullborerace.com/superbutton.html

Maybe its been like this for awhile but was news to me.
So did a Google search to see who might have some left and Speedway came up.
Whats interesting though is if you look at bottom of Full-bore page  is they say " (Buttons sold by Speedway Motors are not Full-Bore Super Buttons) "
So they are imposters.
- My question is are they any good?
- Or do you or anyone know who might have some Full-bore's in stock?
Seen some ratty looking generic buttons wanted to honor Roy Fjastad

Thank you
Luke

Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Aftermarket cases
« on: December 20, 2014, 08:12:26 PM »
Hello Dan:
Say I was wondering if you could put some light as to which case you may or may not like.  Things to look for.
So theirs Reid, ATI, BTE, JW. But maybe one mfg making a few of these??
Personally have a bit of a pause for one of these companies, as I have heard from 3 different people now with less then great recommendation.
I appreciate your time and hope you have a great Christmas or whatever it is you celebrate. 8)

Front Engine Dragsters / Art Malone interesting reading
« on: February 15, 2014, 04:14:13 PM »
Hey all:
Well its cold here in the NE. No heat in the Barn so to satiate the appetite its my time to dig through the old magazine boxes .
This particular issue (Drag Racing - Feb 67). Is a real great one. It was also timely after reading the HR story on Don Long last month. Beautiful car of Art Malone (Woody).  Love reading these to get back in that frame of mind at time. They really get in great detail on this car.
Roo. Do you think that the Steering Bellcrank is off set to right in regards to there being Ackermann in the steering arms?

thanks
Luke
