Roo Man's Room / Re: SFI chassis specs

Maybe the important point is that all sizes mentioned in SFI specs. are 'minimum acceptable' sizes.
I guess that if the 1" dimension was 1.625" and the 0.857" was also 1.625" (i.e. round) that would be acceptable, or is that too simple?
I agree, all rather too complicated.

Nice trailer Glenn. I haven't noticed the catch can on the fuel tank vents before, did you have a problem with spillage ?

Hope you manage to get things fixed without too much more trouble, the car looks really sharp.
I don't think we've ever met Phil, I built a FED way back when I was in the BFRA with Tony Beadle and Ken Cooper, then got made redundant and had to give up. Up to this year been a regular at Shakey and the Pod but have just moved from South Glos. to Wales, new house, still waiting for the builder to start my garage so I can continue putting together my own rail as retirement project. Cheers.

Thanks Bill, I will look into that option, sounds like it would last better than paint, cool.

Rattle cans, amazing, looks real good.
I need to do exactly the same parts, I was thinking maybe chrome finish powder coat but I would much rather do it myself if I could get a result like you have. Did you have to do a black base coat as with powder coat?

Good looking car LZ, is that Don Kanka's S&W 'Jersey Junior Fueler' ?
I wondered what had become of Don's project, he had some health issues I believe.
Hope you enjoy the car it looks like a good build, what motor you gonna run?

Re; Anybody got any comments on the use of Grade 12.9 Cap head bolts ?

Anybody ?

It's just that I have a good stash of 12.9's from a previous project. Using the old adage 'If some is good and more is better, then too much should be just right' I was thinking they might be better than 8.8's, probably wrong.
