Front Engine Dragsters / Re: To Air or Not To Air

Thanks Bill...I wasn't sure if it was crushing too much in the front portion of the tire...is there a point where too much air might cause "bounce" in the shutdown area?

Hi Roo,  it 60' at 1.08 / 1.09, when it rides the bar it may try to drive left occasionally, it does not pull the motor down, launch at 4200 converter jumps to 7000.  it shifts into high 1.75 seconds into the run, no shaking at all. thanks for your feedback.

This pic shows more wrinkles than expected...2585's on 12" rims with 7.5lbs.  It drives into the wheel stand...maybe drop the pressure and "slip" the tire more?

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / Re: Run Chart Analysis

This was my first run with my DL10 hooked up...I'm not sure why the time portion is off yet...the run specs were 4200(two-step), shift at 7800, and 1/4 mile run at 7.474 @ 177.86. Track was Atco Raceway in NJ.  I need to call RPM to ask some questions.

Thanks Dan...8 clutch drum versus my old 6 clutch setup.  I've checked the cable adjustment and felt it was good.

Are the driveshaft (blue line) spikes at end of run wheel hop?

Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Powerglide Cable Adjustment
« on: May 24, 2017, 04:48:49 AM »
If the shifter cable is believed to be adjusted properly, i.e. park, reverse and 1 -2 shift occurs, is it normal for trans to have a slight forward movement when in neutral?

I use a CSR pump with #16 lines to a flat mounted radiator and the system never loses water...maybe a "shot glass" worth after 15 passes...

Front Engine Dragsters / Food For Thought
« on: January 02, 2017, 09:59:56 AM »
Even though Front Engine Dragsters are Nostalgia by nature and the sport has evolved tremendously in so many areas, one area gives me angst every time I go racing.  It's the Tech Card, living in the computer era, why are we still filling out Tech Cards like we did 30+ years ago?  Talk about time consuming, manually completing tech info such as driver info, the myriad of SFI info etc...Why couldn't there be a PDF type form completed prior to arrival that you print at home and bring to the track, then sign it in front of tech inspector.  There are many possibilities to improve this process...your thoughts?

We believe so...TB solenoid was releasing inconsistently.  Trans is out for a freshen-up now.
