Title: New guy from Florida
Post by: johnta1 on February 07, 2013, 06:35:35 AM
Thought I'd start a thread here since I have a R.E.D. car.

It's a Pontiac powered 463 CID with Ron's Toilet on it.
180" long with Powerglide trans.
9" Ford rear end with 3.86 gear/spool
All work done by me or my brother except for the chassis.

Welcome onboard!

I did not know you were in Florida.

I have a house in Pine Island on the west coast.

Your calculators are great!

Retired last year and moved down here.

Glad you like the calculators.

No, it's not a landshark.
It is about like one.

A friend of mine made it and my brother's.
We wanted them to be short for bracket racing.
Easier to turn onto track and return roads.
I think they may be before that guy made the landsharks.
(mine was built in 1995 and my brother's 1st one was a couple years before that.)

I like your reasons for the short dragster. 8)

Usually run 1/8th mile tracks.
5.10 - 5.23 @ 133 MPH

Best 1/4 is around 8.20 @ 166 MPH
(car setup for 1/8th)
