My problem is the same as Glen's. There is no sign of movement near frame saddles. Pinion is we're it is supposed to be. What did you do about front travel during deceleration?

If I put a spacer in front of the coupler would that remove end play ? I had 3/16 play for flex.

Well I pulled the trans out for a yearly look. My coupler was pushed 1/4 " into support.I was running 3/16" end play. The motor plate is not bent. My question is how much end play is to much? Any info would be a greet help.

Call Gorge Rupert. I have been running his carb for more than twenty years. Bolt his setup on and don!t look back. If you let your car set for more than a couple of weeks I would fog down with wd or marvel. I have never see alky go bad in the trailer , just make sure all jugs are closed tight. Floats will absorb alky after time . New floats weigh around 9 grams . Motor will start to starve at about 15 to 19 grams but every setup is different.

Well after several trips to the track I finally found the problem that was turning the car off intermittently. My car is a 225" Spitzer with a 509 bbc. This is not my first Fed.  I was as soft as I could be, leaving at 3600 , shifting at 6800. It ran 3 - 8.11's at 165. Weather was horrible with 79% humidity , 89 degrees. In half good weather that would be easy 7.90. Went two rounds in S/P. I took to much stripe do to lack of seat time. All in all I had a big smile all day and had every spectator in my pit looking and taking pics. Still the most fun you can have with your pants on.

I have said it before. An FED is the most fun you can have with your pants on. I have only made one run with my 05 spitzer 7.90 /173 . The ignition craped out and have not had the time to get back with the repair, work and weather. Car ran that 7.90 with what sounded like it was on the chip from half track. Still the ride was worth it.

Bill I will not be this Sunday. Need to send the MSD out. Car would just turn off. Also going to put a set for 14/32 on for more height and less gear. My change for 4.33 to 4.11 gears . I was against the chip about 1000'. There are some good pics on Lebanon's photo's for this past Sunday, Have fun this week.

Well got out this weekend. Weather was 48 to 53 degrees. Like I thought to much gear and to short tire. I don't think width made any difference . 60' were 1.10 to 1.13. I was out of rpm by 1000 ft. Cor ran 7.90 as soft as I could make it. Also 31" x 14 x 15 tire made the car very low.

I have 14/31/ 15  Hoosiers on mine. First pass on new car will be Friday. Forecast says 56 degrees and there will not be many cars. I will pm you and let you know how 14" tire worked.  I only make 850 hp with my 509 bbc but should a good indicator. I think they are to short and will probably make to much rpm. In the past on my Park's car I ran 13/33/15 gy worked great.
