Title: looking for a good converter builder
Post by: crider on June 24, 2017, 08:11:05 AM
I made it out to the track last night with the dragster, Looks like my engine troubles are finally taken care of, but I think I killed the converter. It's got the rotten boiled fluid smell going on and never stops slipping. Who is good to work with to get the right converter on the first try?

We have run A-1 Converters for 20 years, 360-574-9966, I think all of the JF teams use A-1, also most Comp Elim teams. They seam to have a handle on FED combo's. And they will rework non A-1 stuff, and they do great work on all kinds of trans too.

Thanks Jon! I was going to give them a call on Monday anyhow, so it sounds like I was on the right track. Anyone in particular there that I should talk with?

Sending east to west coast is a waste  call Cameron at Torque Converter Services in Columbia SC 803 754 8139  he is good and usually FAST--cuts it--calls you--tells you what he is looking at and will fix you right up

I have used Transpecialties for years, many of my customers also run their converters. I believe any of the top manufacturers are going to do you a good job. The key to getting it right the first time is giving accurate performance data. Who ever you choose be sure to give as much data as possible. It's more than just on track data, be sure to include as much data on your engine as possible.

Trans Specialties has been good for our SBC blower combination. It has been quick and consistent.
