Looks like the chassis is starting to come together and your parts inventory is growing. Stay motivated, racing season will be here before you know it!  I was at RAF Mildenhall with the SR-71 program back in the late 80s. Really enjoyed my time there. Keep us posted on your progress. Allan Faulkner

Are you going to put any angle braces between the uprights?

Yes there is another pair of diagonals to go where the engine is. Left out in case they fouled the starter motor. But there's plenty of room

Sweet! Love the stance of low cage FEDs. This isn't legs under, is it?

"knees around my ears" I can relate to that. As for legs under in that car, one would have to have legs so short their willie drags the ground... There is a cartoon strip that illustrates how that could happen by a fairy granting a wish, but that might ruffle some feathers here...
I am blessed with neighbors who DO like hearing my car fired, hopefully it's the same for you.
Please feed us more video as it becomes available?

got a few set up runs done at the local track. actually its an old WW2 airfield that they set up timing lights on. very bumpy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOC99oe1dJc

kept messing up 1st to 2nd shifts so times were slow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr1sG5GlzOI

the last run I did. I pulled up to the line, once the green light came on I applied the trans brake, increased revs, had a misfire which cleared then released trans braked and shot off the line. no tyre spin.
shift light came on, got 2nd no problem, near the finish the rear started to bounce.it got so bad I thought it was going to go on it side. it bottomed out on the frame a few times. managed to get it stopped ok. the time was 15.9@ 112mph with a 60ft of 6.1.
I can only think the clock started while I was still messing with the trans bake on the line. didn't get a video of this run so cant review the run.
the underside of the frame is quite badly scraped.

to cut down bounce do I lower or increase tyre pressures or will this not help?

what psi you running, mostly likely bouncing as a consequence of snapping throttle shut and braking too hard.  You need to roll off the throttle and apply the brake gently

7psi tyre pressure

Should I put it into neutral

Not knowing the shifter you have I would not recommend that. You said the runway (those darn yank builders) was bumpy, I'm wondering if there were other vehicles having the same problems. Could it be the surface and not the vehicle.

the airfield was built in 39 so you yanks are not to blame for the bumpy runway. all the other vehicles racing were suspension type.

possibly I may have hard braked rather than let the speed reduce itself.

next time I'm there I will try easing of the gas and light braking see if that helps.

do you think 7psi is a good starting point or higher or lower?

I'm at 7 3/4 PSI In pictures taken at the launch the tire rapes up pretty good so I do not think I would go any softer for my combination

it may be the track, does it have the line cut in the runway? ask my son about the lines and his chin. on his record setting run! or talk to Roo bother.
