Went out to do some testing and license and car shook the tires all weekend. After the last run my head was pounding gonna go back to the drawing board.
Setup now is 1.69 low power glide. 4-11 rear. Leaving at 5800 with a 33-13 15r tire with tubes.

As of right now my idea is go to a 1.80 low gear.

Better luck next time I guess..

BBC cylinder heads bb3 Xtra o have like 6 passes on them then the cylinder cracked. They having valves and springs also the matching Brodix intake 4500 flange. $4000 obo

Matt Shaff's Engine Shop / Vacuum pump drive mandrel recommendation

I'm trying to figure out which mandrel drive I need for my application.
I have a Moroso 22640 and a custom bracket mounting it, due to old big chief style cylinder heads.
It's a BBC with ATI balancer
The pulley on the vacuum pump is 4.750 inches from the flat face of the balancer.
What mandrel would you run?

Just got the new BBC settled in the dragster and wondering y'all's opinion on a few things.
1st the car has 15" wheels and am thinking of maybe having a set of 16 bread locked but is it necessary? What's the Advantage (other than clamp force on the bread) to a 16 v 15.
2nd car has a 3.00 gear we're thinking of going up to a 4.xx any suggestions?
3rd what size tire?

The car is a 225" slip joint fed motor is big chief headed 565 made 1100 HP at 7200rpm
Chassis builder said it weighs 1275 with a sbc no driver.  The plan is basically just go real fast and try to qualify in some local top Dragster type shootout maybe hit a few nhra divisional races.

Any recommendations?

Spud Miller's Cave / Beginner, novice trying to run a BBC with Hilborn injection

I got the car to start but idle and Rev it will not do very well. Barrel valve adjustment seems like it does nothing. Then if you try to throw a Rev it slowly climbs the rpms.

I don't have a clue what to do. Any ideas?

Tow Vehicles / Tire sizes and towing

I have a 2011 f250 I use primarily to tow my chapparal trailer to the races.  My truck needs tires and currently it has 265/75R17 and tows the trailer remarkably well.  I ran across a good deal on some 245 75 17s and am wondering what size tour would be a better option.  Any opinions are appreciated.

 On my car the ram tubes just slip over another tube that's clamped into the intake.  Should i buy new tubes or do i glue them or clamp them?

Tow Vehicles / Box behind cab on 70s era funny car truck

Was watching American nitro last night and noticed a few of the trucks that hauled the trailer had a big box behind the cab. Any body got more info on those?
