Dan Dishon's Transmission Den / Heli coils

Dan I have a couple of of Chrysler 727 cases with stripped threads for the pump . I plan on doing all of the pump bolts because they come apart quite often for gear changes . Do you think a fine thread or a coarse thread will give me better results with the aluminum case ? Also thinking about using studs instead of bolts . Thanks Bill !

New England Dragway will be running a 7.0 pro class next season . I have no schedule yet but I will post it when I get it . We are looking for cars to run with us so please pass the word on ! The rules are similar to NDRL . No delay boxes zoomie headers FED's Altereds and Funny cars ! And one interested ?

Front Engine Dragsters / Tire growth

Any way to determine how much a tire grows at speed ? Thinking about the 2585 Good Year in particular . When I went from a 4.56 to a 4.86 my car picked up . It crosses at around 9400 right now so I am thinking what's a couple of hundred more rpm gonna hurt ! So I am thinking of putting a 5.0 gear in it . My car is around 100 more lbs than a B/ND would be .

Very sad to report the passing of Dale Hall . A true racer and great person . He was one of those guys who could make any thing go fast ! Rest in peace my friend !

Rear Engine Dragsters / Lets hear it for the little guys !

We all complain how the little guy is getting pushed out of racing with the mega buck teams in Comp Eliminator so I thought I should post this . Don Eckel senior and junior won the Comp title here in division 1 and I am very happy for them ! They are both hard working guys with no big money sponsors or big bank accounts . They run CD/A and have busted their butts to get this championship !

Working on running 7.00 next year . Do you need 2 10 LBS fire bottles to run . My car is injected on Methanol no blower ? I am working on getting weight out of my car so adding another 15 lbs to it makes it a little harder . Thanks Bill

I need to slow my car down a couple of tenths for some index racing and I was wondering if I could just adjust my throttle stop so my injectors don't open all the way . Any thought about this ? Bill

Are any of you going ? The reason I am asking is I might need some help at the track . My son and I are both planning to race and I would need someone to drive my golf cart and help me get belted in .Thanks Bill
