Electronics / Wiring a relay
« on: February 19, 2019, 02:22:17 PM »
OK guys,  I am electrically challenged and need help.  I have a Dedenbear 2 Stage Throttle Stop Controller (Model TSC-2A)  that I want to use as a shift timer to activate a shifter solonoid.  I can't figure out how to wire in the  30amp 5 pin relay. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, Ken

Spud Miller's Cave / Electric shift with Mag.
« on: September 25, 2018, 12:42:06 PM »
I have a Dedenbear SS2 shifter solenoid I would like to use with a Vertex internal coil Mag with mechanical tach drive.  Dedenbear used to offer a Pulse Generator PG8 that connected to the cable drive on the mag and connected to the solenoid shifter  but is no longer available.  What are any other options to set up  a solenoid shifter using a mechanical tach drive?  Thanks.

Front Engine Dragsters / Grow Nostalgia Racing.
« on: November 10, 2017, 10:19:51 AM »
NHRA is too closed mind to consider it but what if everyone started sending emails to IHRA asking them to consider adding some nostalgia classes to its events. If they get enough inquiries they might just have to think about it.  What do you think?  It can't hurt to try.

Looking for a 7A nozzle for a Hilborn. If you have a broken set or a spare you are not using it would help.  Thanks Ken   225-281- 5679

Hi:  My name is Ken Thibodeaux and I live in Baton Rouge, La. I have been in and around drag racing since the early 60's when I was in high school and worked as the flagman at the old Biloxi Drag strip in Mississippi. Last year I purchased my current ride, a Boogie Scott FED rolling chassis. Had Boogie Scott build a new body and do some updates to the chassis. Plan to go back to my roots and do the nostalgia thing. Not much nostalgia racing here in south Louisiana but plan to foot brake race locally and do some racing with the Southwest Heritage Racing Assn. (NE3?) and the Southern Gassers/ Made a few T&T passes recently with it. Basic mild 355"sbc/pg with carb on gas.  Results  5'67 121mph and 9.17 145mph. Just took off the carb and installed a Hilborn stack injector an alky. Will T&T this coming weekend. Plan to run the HRR in Bowling Green next month. Hope to meet some of you. Thanks for the site. Great source of information.   Trying to post a picture but keep getting an error message. Will try to post picture as soon as I figure it out.

Hi Gang:  Just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself.  My name is Ken Thibodeaux and I live in Baton Rouge. La.  I went to my  1st. Drag Race as a 9th. grader (1960).  In 1962 I started working as the Flagman at the Biloxi (Mississippi) Drag Strip.  Bought & raced my first car in 1975 (B/ED FED).  Continued to race a  varity of dragsters until my last car, a blown/injected  RED Top Dragster until I stopped racing in 2011.  In Dec. 2014 I "Got the Bug" to go back racing a FED and purchased a 185" Boogie Scott car.  Long story short, rather than putting an engine in it and going racing,  I decided to have Boogie build me a new, full body.  He said it should take 4-6 weeks.  A few updates to the chassis and 10 months later I picked the car up.  (Craftsmanship takes time, lol) and he is a Craftsman.  I have everything to put it back together once I get the chassis back from powdercoating.  Hoping early next week.  Will be running an injected SBC w/ powerglide.  (Wanted something unique, lol)  Will try to post pics of progress if I can figure out how.  Hope to be up and running in 3-6 weeks.   That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!    Ken
