Unless the power valve is stuck shut it wont create a lean condition. Normally if a power valve goes bad it creates a rich condition.

Spud,
What are your thoughts about isolating your check valves from engine vibration. Is it necessary?

If you go to the link that Glenn posted. On pages 68 and 69 you will find the info you need for IHRA. Use the 0.00 to 9.99 chapter.
You will need a certified flexplate, flexplate shield and trans shield.
A -5 suit with gloves, arm restraints, neck brace and helmet would be the minimum. Racing shoes are a good idea as sneakers can melt and stick to you in a fire.
Trans can be exposed for IHRA with a -5 suit. NHRA requires a -15 suit or cover on trans.
I thought a helmet with a SA rating was required with the engine up front. If its not its a good idea. They have a strap that is fire retardant so it wont melt and stick to you or break away in a fire.

Front Engine Dragsters / Re: Why a FED or Nostalgia racing
« on: May 31, 2015, 05:15:35 PM »
For me at first it was the look of a FED. Then I got one and it was a blast to drive. But I didn't really know how much I liked it until I had a RED.

Hate to see any track close. In all honesty I hated this track when we ran IHRA.Heck never made it past first round there. Even in 94 when we had 4 finals, cpl wins and points lead for most of season.  Everyone has a bad luck track this one is second to Darlington SC(lost 3 out 5 motors blown Darlington). Not that track was bad.
The video Luke posted is regarding the track being sold and is open. You can go there and try and redeem yourself now.

Put the engine out as far as you can. Other wise your wheelie bars may need to be as long as the car.

If you follow the link I have a set of these forsale. I thought they stuck out too far on mine. May be what you are looking for.
They include 31/2" collectors and adapter plates. They are coated but show a little rust through the coating.

Try Racing Junk . A header for a tube chassis car should be good for an altered .
They will fit but they will stick out quite a ways.

The link should take you to a schematic of what your looking for. Its from the Kinsler web site. I buy all my FI stuff from FIE. But the Kinsler site has a lot of info. http://kinsler.com/images/CATALOG/Cat_32_Whole_PDF/Cat_32_4_09_WholeSec.pdf

Did you try the basics? New cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Especially the cap and rotor.

You would think with bicycle wheels, aluminum can, .035 tubing. The Kahunas you needed to drive the thing would counter all of the weight savings.
