i did check out the cacklefest website . be great if some rules or guidelines where added .   i was thinking of at least the forged pistons and aluminum rods, just didnt know what was ok and not .also going to filling the block .

i have no intentions on actually going to a cackle fest, if i proceed with the project its not going to be a replica or anything , just something for fun and maybe take to local car shows .

did you have a 3rd party check out the car for you ?  depending on where the car is located im sure you could find a 3rd party racer to inspect the car for you prior to buying ... or even help over see the shipment of it .

i have done this a few times over the yrs for guys out of state . if im local or its in my travels id gladley take an hour or so to help a guy out before buying ..

good luck with the new car

. I always get a kick out of my nostalgia customers with blown injected combo's towing to the line running 7.50's while my RED guys drive their cars up and back while running 7 flat.

my last RED i had a 632 with junk heads and a not so good convertor  , it would run 7.4's at 186-188mph .... on 116 race gas .... 1 1300cfm carb ... lol .... i only towed it to the track in the trailer ..

why not go with a BBC ?  i know they have valve train problems and stuff when you really start putting out the power , but there are alot of guys running stock blocks over 1000hp blown ..... if you didnt go crazy buying high end parts you could put together a pretty reliable bbc for under 8k i would think .

i have looked at the hemi route myself for the car im building , but i dont see myself going faster than 7.0 so the bbc will be just fine for me i think .... ill do a hemi on the next car i build

Nothing today. Spent 14 hours yesterday straightening up her room.  Ok I was trying to make room for me to work on the car some. I think it should be a law that all houses come with a garage thats equal to or bigger than the house. How do they expect someone to get a topf fuel car in to a 22' garage?

we live in a 900 sq ft apartment type deal attached to our 6500 sqft shop .... its friggin awesome !

have not done anything to my build in a long time , but the other day i got a key part that i have been saving for ...   1.66 high impact pro glide , vasco gear set , etc .... i hope i dont break it behind a 700hp bbc .
