Title: Fed with front suspension

Not to derail Curly's thread on bounce. I have been looking at few front suspension ideas on RED's and possibly doing FED front end similar. With my chassis the front half( just past motor mounts) can be removed with 4 bolts. I like the diamond chassis front shock deal that is in middle of chassis. Thinking about building one this winter to try. Might do awya with top end bounce when getting off throttle in hurray. Not big deal for lots here but if bracket racing it could be. I know the purist are going to hate it. Sorry but I built car to run brackets and be different. Making it handle and work the best I can is my main goal.

Any ideas or suggestions?

If you do the Diamond style and have a front overhang, chances are you will break out if you use the breaks at the finish line.

OTOH, with a little creative use of a canard wing for down force you can shorten your side of the race track by about 30". Just sayun'...

Not sure how you mean. Nose is going to break beam at finish regardless. Finish line beams are 5" or so and no way my 30" nose at 3" will not be tripping it. Something I am missing?

I see your point now. A car should stage off the front tire and always trip the finish beam with the nose - or never - to get consistent e.t.s.
Not tripping the finish beam with a nosepiece, i.e. nothing protruding past the front tire like BK's avatar RED, makes your race course a couple of feet longer than if you have body work.
