Title: pump sizing for blower
Post by: wideopen231 on October 01, 2020, 05:48:21 PM
Looking at ton of guys running blower in bracket now and getting good results. Wondering what size pump required. Pretty sure my 1200's off TA stuff little big.  Then my little 6.8 gpm DSR seems small for anything much over very mild 6-71.

Seems to always come back to how much HP you wanna make.

I run 16psi on my blown 387SBC.  1950#, 7.60/178mph.  i'm using about 5.3gpm. I run a DSR 80-a1 pump and still have lots of main jet to go.

SOunds good. Already have DSR pump and would mean just need 6-71 that can deliver a lot of boost, but be run very mild with pump and just throw bigger system on for full bore power level if wanted.
